Get to know the Living in Group Agreements here – Campus Policy

Check-in times – Reception:

Check-in (arrival time): Friday and Monday*: from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (*Due to the heavy traffic on the highways, please plan your departure to avoid delays in your schedule here on campus: meditation at 7 p.m. followed by dinner and the opening meeting).

As we do not offer hotel services or 24-hour reception, you need to plan your arrival on campus considering our schedules. (Our Office will inform in case of any changes.)

Opening meeting:

On Mondays and Fridays, at 8:40 p.m., there will be an opening meeting with all the participants of the period, in which the integration of the group and the experience in Nazaré Uniluz begins.

Your participation in this meeting is essential! You will learn about the history and principles of the university, as well as the agreements and dynamics of your period of staying, living experience or course in which you have chosen to participate.

periods of meditation, silence and mindfulness

In order to maintain a harmonious and quiet environment, here are some agreements for everyone’s tranquility and rest:

  • From 10 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next day, we practice silence on campus. During this period, we pause speech and avoid activities that generate noise. For the use of showers, the silence period is from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. the following morning.

  • The campus is silent for group meditation three times a day: at 7am, 12pm and 7pm, for 15 minutes. We do not practice breathing techniques or body movements within the Meditation Room. Keeping silence is requested in the room and in the access pathways. If you arrive after hours and the external red light is on, we ask that you meditate in the anteroom or outside in the gardens to avoid interrupting those already meditating inside the Meditation Room.

  • The meditation room is available 24 hours a day, so feel free to use it outside of the pre-established group times if you want to practice meditation individually.

  • One way to practice mindfulness and maintain a state of presence during your stay is that you do not make use of electronic equipment, cell phones or cameras, within the campus. Leave your phone in your room and in “airplane mode” and use it to talk when needed and only in the reception area and parking lot.

Caring for nature

Water is one of the planet’s most precious gifts.

  • Make conscious use of water, electricity and soap when showering or washing dishes.

  • Collaborate with the proper separation of waste, following the identification of each container intended for this purpose. If you have brought something that needs to be disposed of, look in the bins designated for organic, recyclable and non-recyclable waste.

  • Please do not dispose of anything in the toilets: paper, pads, small packaging, etc. Our cesspool and sewage system can neither cope with nor degrade these products.

payments

Payment can be made in cash or in installments* on credit card. If you prefer cash, just make a deposit or bank transfer of 50% of the total value of your retreat or scheduled activity to make your reservation.

You can pay the other 50% on arrival by cash or debit card. If you choose to pay in installments by credit card, you will need to make a deposit or transfer of the minimum amount equivalent to one installment to confirm your reservation. You can settle the remaining amount when you arrive on campus.

* The number of installments will depend on the final amount of your stay with us. There is no interest added on any amount paid in installments, only an additional fee charged by the card company.
